Day 1 - a quick update
No time for details, here’s a quick recap:
Flight left DFW about 30 minutes late
Bus departed airport about 15 minutes late
LONG bus ride, half of which was just getting out of Mexico City - over one hour with nothing to see but cinder block government housing. Not that pretty
Taxi to San Miguel was great - windows open the whole time, perfect temperature, very low humidity, beautiful scenery
Fun things spotted - loose donkeys and horses grazing by highway, multiple times
- small band in parade formation marching and playing down side of highway, headed out of town!
Got to Case de las Flores - beautiful! An oasis. Walked to downtown, LONG walk through the heart of a predominantly Mexican part of town. Had delish pork tacos from small cafe, diet cokes from one of many convenience stores being run out of houses - Mariachi bands and fireworks down in the central jardin (square)
Walked back here, ready to pass out, dead tired.
